Ribasim-NL
A nationwide water model of the Netherlands, built from source data by a reproducible pipeline
Ribasim-NL builds the Dutch national water model LHM with Ribasim, a water resources model. It combines a model of the main water system of Rijkswaterstaat with the regional models of 21 water authorities, from their source data, into one model of about 20 000 Basins. A DVC pipeline in this repository makes every step reproducible, so a change to the data or the code gives a new model that can be compared with the previous one.
From source data to a nationwide model
Model derivation explains each step, with maps of real examples.
Where to go
Browse the input and results of the latest model on a map, and compare them with the measurements.
The pipeline step by step, from source data to the nationwide model.
Per water authority: how the water system works and how that is schematized (in Dutch).
Set up the development environment, get the data, and run the pipeline. The API reference covers the Python package ribasim_nl.
